CONSTRUCTION OF A SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC POWER PLANT AT THE AXCILLIARIES OF THE 2 × 25 MW SONICHAR PLANT

Sector   :  Energy
Type   :  Public
Project owner   : Ministry of Energy
Amount (USD)  :   12,5 millions USD
Amount (FCFA)  :   6,2 billion FCFA
The project to build a photovoltaic solar park in the Far North of Niger with a production capacity of 50 MW is in line with the national strategy focused on reducing dependence on electric energy. The central objective of the project is to increase the electrical production potential of SONICHAR by using mini photovoltaic panels of SUNPOWER modules (SUNPOWER P19 series - model SPR-P19-405-COM), the most efficient and durable at the moment.
Benefits

  • Promotion of renewable energies;
  • Consolidation of the economic and social development of the Far North of Niger;
  • Profitability of insured investments: site located in a large sunny area with an electric line to allow the plant to operate at full capacity throughout the year;
  • The modules will be subject to "desert control" and will guarantee after 25 years of production a power greater than 82.6%
